My Favourite Ash Tree

Comments

Fresh, lively work Fiona.

Love your loose handling and very effective brushstrokes, especially those coming out of the tree and the foreground black circular marks which frame the painting beautifully.

Fiona, I just wanted to contact you to say thank you for all your praise over the last couple of years. It means a lot to me and has spurred me on to create more artwork.

Lovely fresh and loose, Fiona.

Delightful watercolour Fiona, with a lovely range of colours and very confident brush strokes.

Thank you Stephen. Carole, many thanks for your kind comment. I wasn’t sure about adding the foreground wall, I know if Mr. Bickley sees it he will tell me off! Nick that’s a lovely thing to say thank you. I can assure you it’s praise easily given, your art speaks for itself and is from the heart. Thank you Cesare, I like the description, fresh and loose. Tessa, thanks very much, appreciate your comment.

Nice fresh Painting Fiona nicely painted

Lovely colour combinations.

Love the soft colours, Fiona.

Well I thought fresh and lively, but that’s been said. So, loose and controlled will have to suffice - super little sketch F.

Beautifully portrayed Fiona. I won't see my favourite tree soon as they are building in front of it. 😔

Like it a lot Fiona so much beauty in tree. I wish I could paint as loose as this and achieve such good results.

As always, good colours and spontaneity Fiona. If I tried this I would " over cook " it by keep adding to it !!!!!!

Thank you Dennis very much. Many thanks Stephen! Thanks Alan! Jenny, thank you for your lovely comment. Oh no Carole! That’s awful, did you protest, I would have. Still, I suppose at least they are not chopping it down, as is the want of some building contractors. I’m sorry about that. Thank you very much Paul, that’s very kind of you. I get very tempted to add to it too Richard, I’m educating myself to thinking....why use three brush strokes when one will do the job. Thanks for your comment.

Yes I did spot the wall but you’ve just about got away with it!

Lol.....I thought you’d missed that one Alan, put in specially for you! 😘

The tree is next but one field away Fiona so they can't touch it, they are building in our neighbouring field, yes we protested as it has much wildlife and it floods ( very much at the moment!)

If the field floods you should have borrowed a few natterjack toads from somewhere Carole, it would have been sacred ground! I would hate that Carole, it isn’t just the building of the house and all that entails, it’s what comes with it. I hope it doesn’t impact the wild life, I know like myself, you are keen on preserving it.

I should have found those toads Fiona! Don't think it would have helped, it depends how much money is paid to the council for permission to use the green belt for building 😢

I know what you mean Carole 🤨

12”x9” watercolour and Indian ink on Arches. My favourite spikey ash tree that grows just up the burn from the garden. The bracken is just turning (did this a few weeks ago) and the leaves have already fallen, the green in the tree is its mantle of Ivy.
