Not doubt about it Fiona you are mastering watercolour to great effect.

Yes happy memories of being young and single! I know this area well, excellent little watercolour study Fiona.

Love your negative painting, marks and colours in the foreground Fiona, beautifully done. Bet your husband loves this :)

That's what it's all about Fiona such a beauty

Super work Fiona. So fresh and spontaneous.

A beautiful painting with a story! Great, Fiona.

You use great colour selection Fiona, and this is skilful and lovely.

I wish John! Thank you very much. Alan, you know he wouldn’t swap me for the world.....he might for a Mars bar though! Thanks Al. Loving it might be a bit strong Carole, “very nice” might be more like it...lol. Thank you for your lovely comment. Thank you very much Dennis, a good reason to paint something. Carole, thank you, you’re very kind. I like a story with a painting Mia.....thank you very much. Thank you Tessa. I get muddled up if I use too many colours in one painting Tessa, stick to a limited palette before I make a mess!

Love the contre jour effect of your sky...and the story!!!

Delicate but effective. Nice work Linda.

Nice work Fiona!!

What a super watercolour Fiona. It's nice to bring back memories for someone.

I love simplicity in painting, this has it in spades. Lovely.

A superb watercolour painting, l love the looseness of it.

Thalia, Shaun, Pete, Jim and Paul thank you all ever so much for your kind comments. Always appreciated.

Love it Fiona, wonderful loose work used to great effect

Lovely Fiona!

Fiona, this is gorgeous, love all those soft colours and washes.

Love that foreground Fiona it's so light and fresh looking and looks great against that blustery blue sky.

David, Michael, Guy, Jenny and Val......thank you all for such positive comments!

Very good Fiona, love the foreground. I can use too many colours and it ends up looking " muddy". I think that is the expression.

I know what you mean Richard, that’s why, generally, I stick to a limited palette. There are only four colours in this, either used by themselves or mixed to create another colour. I get in a muddle and a mess if I start using too many colours. Thank you for your comment Richard.

Lovely washes, Fiona, and an atmospheric landscape!

Many thanks Chandra.

Lovely fluid painting, Fiona

Beautifully painted Fiona - lovely and fresh.

16”x12” watercolour on Arches. My husband was born and grew up in the west end of Leicester and when he was a lad, he would cycle out to Bradgate Park with his pals, for a day out of the city. With his jam sandwich and bottle of water......no doubt getting into mischief. Now and again a paint him a scene from his youth, brings back lots of memories.
