Bamburgh Sketch

It’s still worked well Fiona even if you don’t know how to use them. I just get into a dreadful mess ,especially when your hands get warm. I think I’ve sat in the same place and painted the castle .

Can't use them either but you've been very effective with them here Fiona. You seem to have the knack of capturing the place quickly -well done. Maybe you should stck with them (no pun intended!)

It does not matter which medium we us , oil, watercolour, wood , metal, clay, we first have to understand it. First comes the learning curve, then we see the potential. I like to use oil pastel with watercolour Fiona. You can get some super effect with practice.

Love this, Fiona, it’s really worked well. I use oil pastels quite a bit with my acrylics, you can get some great marks with them. I use Sennelier.

Nice and spontaneous with very good use of colour.

Really like the "abstract" rocks .

Thank you all very much for your encouragement. I will persevere with them, my art group this term is going to be looking at mixed media, so I must pay attention when we get to oil pastels. Some people, yourself included Shaun get some dazzling effects. Thanks again.

Another Bamburgh sketch, this time in oil pastels....I really don’t know how to use this medium, it’s very frustrating.
