hi this is beatiful i hope you get back to painting soon good luck with the move xx

This has worked well Fiona, trust all goes well with the move and hope to see more postings soon.

Love the colours and effect. Good luck with your house move. I thought you hadn't been quite so busy lately - packing I suspect. Hopefully it won't be long before you can treat us to some more paintings. I have finally got round to a pastel self-portrait, which I may or may not post!!!!!

Yes, Fiona don't leave it too long and make sure that you unpack those paints quickly. This is another nice scene. I especially like the foreground but all of it is great :)

Thanks very much everyone....I'll try and look in on the gallery when I can but I don't think I will be painting for a while. Thanks again!

Lovely composition and wonderful colours. Love the sky.

Fiona, I do hope I am not too late with my comment. I love your painting even if it strikes me as being somewhat different from your usual style. I cannot imagine this site without your input - your comments as well as your pictures. You have such a large following, (just look at the number of comments as soon as you post a pic !), I am sure I am not alone in this. I wish you and your husband all the best for your house move. But do, please, hurry back. Love, Lionel. x

Another good un Fiona and you even have a couple of builings in this one! Lively brushwork and lovely colours and a great feeling of depth in this one. Hope it isn't too long before you can pick up a brush again, I become impossible to live with ( so I'm told ) when I haven't been able to paint for a while. I hope you are not leaving that beautiful corner of Scotland where you live and are just changing houses but I wish you and hubby the best of luck with the move.

I hope I'm not too late with this message -have only just found this lovely picture. The colours are wonderful and as Val says you've even managed to sneak a couple of very creditable buildings in. Good luck with the move -hope you manage to keep warm and are soon back painting. Are you moving to new wonderful scenery in Scotland or further afield?

Lionel, you say the kindest things. I thank you for your friendship which has come about through a shared interest and I hope to be back as soon as possible. I will need lots of cajoling because I'm sure my painting will go down hill quickly if can't practise, so keep looking in and get ready to give me that kick in the pants when I need it! Lol! Thanks again Lionel and don't forget to keep painting when your health allows....love Fiona xxx

Hi Val, I know, buildings, aren't I brave! Just moving from one beautiful corner of Scotland to another beautiful corner of Scotland....but then again, I think Scotland is just one big beautiful corner! Thanks very much for your good wishes.

Many thanks Carol, the lovely deep rich colours in the foregound shrubs are different strengths of Venetian red and Ultra Marine with a little burnt Umber dropped in here and there. Staying in Scotland and hope to have many more new subject to paint! Thanks again Carol.

Super piece, Fiona! Love the palette. Looking forward to your return soon.

Hi Fiona! Lovely to see you back on site. And many thanks for your lovely comment on my Marina pic. It was very nice of you to take the time and trouble to comment amidst all your other distractions. Looking forward to seeing your next painting - but get that move completed first!! Lionel.

So interesting to see the houses down in the valley and the tree details and colours, seeing as it is 1st March today you have probably moved by now Fiona so hope it all went well and you survived the turmoil ok!

Hi Ros, yes the move went well thanks and I've just about unpacked everything now....even my art gear. No painting done yet though, haven't had the time yet. Thanks for your comment.

Where have you gone Fiona?? hurry back with another painting :-). Hope your house move has went well.

Hi Fiona, good to to see you back commenting after your house move, thanks for lloking in and commenting on my pastel pet portrait of the spring lamb, that was a new one for me, never done a lamb before and i was pleased with how it turned out, had great fun drawing it, thanks for looking in and leaving a comment, now lets see your next work so we can all get commenting on it asap xx ps can you believe the latest multiple poster! she posted 12 yes 12 paintings today and despite critiques from Thea, someone else, and me, other people unbelievably left her some encouraging comments on some of the work can you believe that? so, of course, she has not removed any of them, that really annoys me when some of us have left comments telling these people to remove their extra posts only for others to leave them good comments, what is the point of that!!

Hi Fiona just seen your great comment on my latest horses head pet pastel portrait, thanks for taking a look and leaving that, I got the idea for that from a photo in a newspaper that had someone stood by the horse and the horse was reacting to that person but I knew I could do a good rendition of that horse on it's own and it had an interesting look on it's face as well so the whole thing turned out well and I am pleased with it and being a horse lover I cannot go too long without drawing another one! So that's how it came about and I think it is a more realistic rendition of a horse than the one's I have posted so far, thanks again for your kind words x

This will be my last painting and last posting for a while due to house move. Packed up the last of my paper and paints and I'm not sure when they will see the light of day again. From a photograph taken by Derek Burt who has kindly given me permission to use and post the results. The sky could be a little heavier to do the photograph justice because it's a lovely example of a bright sunlit area surrounded by the darkness of approaching cloud and cloud shadow......the photograph that is not my attempt at capturing it ! On Arches with Old Holland paints. Thanks for looking.
