Lovely summery painting Fiona, let's hope summer comes soon.

Thanks Fiona, what a lovely thought and what a lovely painting.

It's not raining in your painting! can I go there please? Lovely Fiona.

Thanks for the painting of Summer Fiona, I'd forgotten what Summer was! It's thundering and raining as I write this!

I've dabbled in water colours but when I see something as good as this I'm reminded why I stopped. This is a superb painting Fiona. I'm particularly impressed by your ability to show distance and proximity.

Thank you Glennis, I'm afraid you've been having our weather, (north Scotland) would you believe we desperately need rain!!! I think we've only had 8% of what we would normally have over the summer.

Many thanks Gudrun, Sylvia, Carole for your lovely comments. I hope you get a break in the weather soon.

Thank you very much Tom, you are very kind.

What a lovely summery painting, I'm envious! Super texture in the grasses and a lovely sky full of movement.

Super work Fiona, I especially like the sky.

I'd quite forgotten what an idyllic summers day looked like. Thankyou for reminding me :) Your sky is beautiful as is the rest of it too :)

Thank you Lesley, Stephen, Sarah for taking the time to look and comment.

Well done Fiona. Super painting....and judging from the comments posted at just the right time

just the sort of scene I like painting and you have done it such justice - really sets the standard for us watercolourists

Lovely to see a sunny day and a light and breezy sky (it seems a distant memory at the moment!). Lovely light feel to this painting and it is a super pastoral piece.

That's a lovely painting Fiona.

Paul, Michael, Thea and Paul, thank you. Receiving comments from artist such as yourselves means a great deal.

Fiona you have produced another little bit of magic --

Another lovely watercolour. What a good idea. If the weather can´t come to us we can change that on canvas or paper.

What a lovely thought Fiona and an equally beautiful painting. Rumours have it that next week we may get a few days of summer here in the south!! Looks as if your painting may have done the trick. I love the sky in this and your distant hills reinforce what you have said to me about cooler, lighter colours in the background.

I don't know about you up there but we had a monsoon yesterday and today the sky is as blue as your painting. The vagaries of a Scottish or British summer LOL Lovely work Fiona, summer as it should be.

Thank you so much Larry, Charles and Pat, your encouragement and support is very much appreciated.

I hope you're right about the weather Carol, I think we are getting a change in the weather next week.....we get the rain! Val, it didn't get this far north, just sunshine and cloud yesterday, today we have bright blue sky with a slight breeze. Thank you both for your lovely comments.

A delightful painting, Fiona. The development of your style and skills and confidence have left so many of us floundering in your wake. I know that I, for one, will not be able to catch up. But I'll keep trying!

I'm coming in rather late on this, Fiona, having been out and about in beautiful sunshine this morning on our bikes. I can only echo what's already been said - you are truly becoming quite an expert on these lovely watercolour landscapes and this one is beautiful. It looks like fields here that have been freshly mown for silage or hay, although we don't get poppies growing here.

There you go again Lionel.....far too generous regarding my ability, and even if it were true.....which it isn't......I am what you have made me, all of POL posters, but mostly you and a couple of others!! :) Thank you once again for your kindness. X

Hurrah, you got sunshine!! Thank you very much Jane for your lovely comment, much appreciated.

Hi Fiona. Thank you very, very much for your lovely posting, asking about my health. The trapped nerves are getting better and better very slowly. I am able to take of the brace during the night. Still not able to draw, paint or work on the computer for too long without it and even then... the "sleepy feeling" in my arms or hands starts again. I have a look at the POL site now and then and I saw your beautiful last postings. I like your style and subjects very much. Tomorrow, I will post an Archive work here "to keep in touch" with all the lovely people who asked why I am not on the site for the moment. Thanks again and all the best, :) Mia.

Glad to hear your health is impoving Mia even if the journey is a slow one at the moment. Look forward to seeing your posting. Best wishes.

A lovely piece, Fiona - the bright summer atmosphere is super, and I really like the sky washes.

Thank you very much Seok.

I love your style, wonderful painting.

Beautiful watercolour Fiona

Thank you very much Petra and Pat for your very kind remarks, they are greatly appreciated.

A corner of a cornfield in summer and a dedication to all POL members who have had such a miserable few months of weather. Painted on Arches (rough) Old Holland watercolours; manganese blue, R. sienna, B. sienna, V. brown, U. marine and the odd spot of Cad. red for the poppies!
