Simple and spontaneous brushwork - a gem.

Just lovely as Michael says spontaneous great:)LInDa

Simple and lovely watercolour Fiona

This looks like it has been done quickly, but with great effect. Lovely sky wash with the hazy sun just peeping through at the top. A well executed misty background, then quick brush strokes to create the tree branches and the grasses to produce an interesting foreground. A few scrapes into the wet paint to finish it off. Exellent. I love it.

Love the yellow sky Fiona, great painting.

Michael, Linda, Petra thank you very much for you kind comments. Chris, were you looking over my shoulder? Yes, it was done quickly, in all I think it took longer for the sky, foreground and misty bush wash to dry, than it did to paint the whole thing! I didn't time it but I would say not more than 20mins to do the actual painting......mind you, I do use rather a large brush. :) Pete I wasn't sure about the yellow at first because I used neat lemon yellow, but I think it works okay for the misty effect. Thanks again folks.

Very atmospheric, another little beauty.

Great painting, lovely sky

Thank you ladies, you're very kind.

Very nice Fiona, has a good sense of distance.

Beautiful light and gorgeous clear washes. It's super, Fiona!

Many thanks Stephen, Seok much appreciated.

Hayley, thank you, thank you, thank you!! :-) You are very generous with your comment.....as always.

Lovely, I especially love dry-brush walls Fiona, very effective.

Many thanks Carole.

Wonderful dawn sky and such a lovely loose look to the painting. I really like the colours in your stone wall as well.

Done from one of the photographs on the copyright free photo site POL. It's suppose to be the misty fen farmland one. It's done on 1/4 imperial Bockingford rough. I couldn't fit it all on the scanner so some of the edges and foreground are missing. Thanks for looking.
