Wonderful. The colours reflected in the water work really well.

Wow Fiona -you've really gone to town with this one. I love it

Love the way you've placed the waterline high on your painting Fiona so the water is the main focus with all those wonderful colours and reflections.

Very different from your usual work but it's very good.

Love the colours and also the "scratch out" trees. It gives them character :)

I agree with Jane, the high horizon works really well and puts an original slant on the composition. This painting grabbed my attention - it's a tricky subject not to do cheesily, isn't it, well done for completely avoiding making it chocolate boxy! I like it a lot Fiona, it's so lively it fizzes!

Almost abstract - love it.

I love it Fiona, well done!

What a lovely surprise when I opened my emails! I wasn't expecting such positive comments on this one to be honest, as it's very different to what I usually do. Quite enjoyed it though. Thank you all for your lovely comments.

Beautiful Fiona - lovely reflections and love the colours - great painting

Thank you Glennis......I nearly frightened myself to death with the bright colours! :)

Wow, Fiona! What a dramatic and eyecatching piece! Love the sparkling colors and the reflection.

Unusual and very nice Fiona.

Many thanks Seok, Denise....it is a bit bright and different isn't it.....for me anyway! Thanks again.

Wow that is soooo different for you. I love the format, the colours, the reflections and the way you have scratched out the birch trees. A real eyecatchter.

Cheers Val.....scary isn't it!!

Thank you Ann.

Love everything about this... and I admire the way you can go from one medium to another! A beautiful gallery.

Look who's done a painting with bright colours! :) I found some old heavy body acrylic paints the other day in the bottom of a draw, and on the same day a friend gave me a photograph of the above scene. This is the result; I'd forgotten how quick you need to be to get the paint down before it dries......there were one or two expletives I can tell you. Rather than paint the birch trees in I scatched them out before the paint dried, well that was the plan. Done on a piece of mount board which was primed with gesso, 19"x10" Photograph by Pam MacKenzie.
