It is very atmospheric Fiona! Good drawing as well. I think the top left darker patch of sky looks good. You could perhaps add more gold branches over the paler parts and change the gold ones to white using white goache over the dark parts of the sky? Just an idea :)

Like the concept, Fiona.......

Great Gothic feel to this one Fiona, and like Louise I really like the dark left hand part of the sky, if you are not happy with the branches then this is worth doing again - well done!

I love your branches fiona, and the composition too. The sky at the top left is great, i like how the colour merges

Thank you ladies. Louise I might have a fiddle with it and may be even darken the branches, but white gouache could do the job. I'll post whatever I decide to do. Hayley I bet I couldn't do the same sky again, I think it's the best bit of the picture. Thanks again for commenting.

It is very atmospheric as others have mentioned, a good drawing Fiona

Many thanks Glennis for taking the time to look and comment.

I think you have created a really amost sinister and atmospheric piece here Fiona, and I would not worry very much about paintings not turning out how you imagined, this happens to myself on many occasions, sometimes for the better !! anyway I like this and well done.

Thank you very much Graham, I hope to have another go at it.

This is very atmospheric (dramatic), Fiona. It is like a storm coming up with thunder and lightning. I like it!

Thank you Mia.

This has a really wonderful stormy atmosphere, Fiona, and the light is great.

Thank you Seok, I've replaced the gold branches with ink the same as the others, but the project has lost it's appeal.

Can't think of a title for this one...it didn't really turn out how I planned....do they ever! It's from a photo taken in Carlton cemetary in Edinburgh and I thought it would look quite atmospheric in inks. The only trouble is, I tried to use gold ink for the branches in front of the darker clouds but I couldn't get enough depth for it to show up. After trying to go over the gold several times I've just made, what should be fine branches, far too thick! I think I'll have another go but this time keep it simple and stick to pen & wash. Thanks for looking.
