Doodle away Fiona I like them.

Yes Fiona, please continue to doodle. I look forward to seeing more! This is lovely - your confidence in your brushstrokes and the sureness of your lines are making me really envious!

Fabulous! You are getting confident with the brush strokes and it shows! Love the grass on the right and the small reflection in the puddle is perfect. Your confidence is shining through!

I agree with the above. Lovely watercolour

Thank you all very much, your comments and support are really appreciated.

I wouldn't call that a doodle I'd call it a painting. Anyone who can paint loosly in watercolour like that gets my admiration. Thank you for your lovely comments on my paintings.

Thank you so very much Val for you lovely comments. I have a long way to go before I would consider anything I do a 'painting'!!! A proper painting I mean, a painting that is mine form start to finish.....if that makes sense?! I have never felt more encouraged as I do from the wonderful people on this site. I paint by myself and because I live in such a remote place there are no clubs/societies etc. to gain confidence and encouragment from. It's certainly made a difference to me to get advise and tips from you all.

Keep doodling! Painting is a lone activity really, even if you do find a club of like-minded people (and not all clubs are full of like-minded people, by a long chalk...). A doodle will turn into a "proper painting" one of these days, if it hasn't already. Don't worry about it, and it will happen.

Great freedom and brushwork (whatever the brush is, it is working!). The thing about doodling is that you get that wonderful immediate feel which is so attractive. Not everyone (me included) can just pick up a brush and go for it - so well done for having the courage and inspiration to be so free.

Hi Fiona, I've just read your comment on that big ship painting. You should treat youself to a large flat " hake" brush. They are fabulous and as that artist said, they are very liberating.

many people are scared to be bold with watercolour, not you, your brush strokes are confident but you have retained the freshness only watercolour has.great work..trevor lawrence.
