Abandoned house II

My favourite of your 3 today, great brickwork!

That warm glow on the brickwork, and against the lovely blue sky…I like it a lot. Your other posts are excellent too but, like Heather, this is my favourite.

Haveyou ever read Robert Louis Stevenson's Kidnapped? There's a description of the half finished House of Shaws there, in which Ebenezer Balfour tries to bring about the death of his nephew, David. Very good book it is, too: this could be an illustration for it.

Realmente bueno.

The contrast of warmth, in that lit brickwork, with the larger cool areas is skilled.

You didn’t overdo the bricks…I think they’re perfect! The warmth of the sunshine on them against the shadowed areas is fantastic.

Great colour work.. Almost feels like being there!

Oil on 30x30 cm canvas. Another one of that house. I found its name "Houghton House". I think I overdid the bricks a bit, and miss a bit more of light somewhere else. I find easier to paint broken things.
