This is so well done. It gave me a real sense of nostalgia as my husband and I used to make and sell very similar looking pictures made with pressed wild flowers and herbs, I did the growing, pressing and designing and he the calligraphy and framing. We didn’t include wild life though😲

This part of Middlesbrough has been happily neglected for a few years, though the council and others have it earmarked for ‘development’. But in the meanwhile it’s a refuge for wildflowers and invertebrates. I go there sometimes on my lunch hour to sketch and take photos of what I find; here are some examples. These brownfield sites can be better for wildlife than more traditional beauty spots. Pen and wash on HP paper.
