Thank you everyone for your very kind comments. It was an interesting painting to work out both for tones and colouring, but i was pleased in the end with the image. Their are quite a lot of clapper bridges in Dartmoor, mainly used for getting livestock across the river such as sheep.

I love the atmosphere you’ve created in this painting David and the colours are very nice, the bridge is viewed from the other side in my painting.

20" x 16" watercolour. The whites were left/ painted round, no masking fluid was used. I also painted a lot of negative ( putting darker elements behind lighter passages) and positive ( painting darker elements in front of lighter passages) as this creates interest.
