Our Jake

Our Jake

Margaret this is excellent, you have really got a good sheen on Jake's coat, the eyes are brilliant and I always stay clear of photos where the dogs tongue is hanging out but you have done it superbly, a long time to do but we'll worth it. 😀

What a beauty! very loving eyes, Jake has for his mum,a lovely coat and a cute little nose, well done ,Margaret. :)

Worth the time though Margaret, just fabulous.

jake and his portrait are beautiful Margaret

Brilliant work Margaret.

He looks a very happy dog. Good structure to the head and sheen to his fur.

A beautiful and attractive portrait of your wee Jake Margaret.....very competently executed. Gorgeous eyes.

Thanks all, you are so very kind with your comments.

He’s gorgeous, Margaret. The eyes are so appealing, he reminds me of Billy, the family Cocker Spaniel.

That’s a superb piece of work Margaret

He is lovely Margaret. Like the shiny coat, fur and those appealing eyes.

Wow, Margaret, I love this portrait of Jake. You have really captured the fur on his ears and his eyes and nose are great. He looks to be a lovely little chap. They do take a long time but the outcome is very much worth it when it is as good as this.

So beautiful Margaret. Those eyes are so bright and I love the pencil lines directions describing the fur

It's absolutely fabulous, Margaret, particularly the eyes. There's so much happening in those eyes that you can't help wondering what's going through Jake's mind. Your attention to detail is very impressive, marvellous in fact, and the result justifies the time spent on this labour of love. Love it and Jake. *smile* Bri

Wonderful portrait of a beautiful dog Margaret.

You have done a great job Margaret a beautiful portrait of your pet.

Thanks everyone for taking time to comment.

Hang on Studio Wall

9"x12" Coloured pencil on Pastelmat. This is my own dog who is very black! I have drawn him a few times previously but I am pleased how this one has turned out. I had a sample piece of pastelmat so thought I would try it and I like it very much so have now ordered some. This took approximately nine hours to complete in total.

About the Artist
Margaret Beynon

March 2019 I am self taught, reading from books and watching dvd's and of course YouTube. Watercolour painting was my first love and then I moved on to coloured pencils which I like very much. I have just started using acrylics which are a very different medium but so far I'm enjoying using them…
