Hi Caroline. I think this is great, and made me think of Seago's masterly simplicity. You've captured the atmosphere of this scene. 'Simple' and few washes, 'right' in tone, balanced in colour (a warmth conveying a tranquil summer day), a great and well defined sky and a good, well balanced composition.

Hang on Studio Wall

Struggling a bit with foregrounds and trying to paint with a clearer, looser and lighter touch. It's a fine line between that and 'washed out', which this is teetering towards.... but it's a little darker than the photo shows, and I feel I've made progress (Robert, thanks, your comments helped). I resisted the temptation to add grasses, more branches etc.
