Field of gold II

Field of gold II

Nice to see the artist in action, looks a lovely spot to paint.

It was, Stephen, I was lucky to find a space in a driveway out of the way of all the tractors and grain lorries going along the little lane.

I agree with Stephen . You look very organised too. The painting looks stunning.

Thank you Sarah, much appreciated! Yes, I'm getting a good setup together for plein air painting. Still working on cutting things down to a minimum. I'm in the process of making a paint container so I don't have to take tubes of paint. I'll post a photo. When I go to the States I'll invest in a Paint Garage as it's expensive customs-wise to buy one from here.

Smashing shot of art in action and what looks to be part of your expensive but very useful gear.

Thank you very much for your comments, Carole and Derek. I got the American plein air easel at a good price when in the States, Derek; the tripod I bought here and it's great, lightweight and cheap, so surprisingly no, not expensive. I'm still after an Open Box M palette so do please let me know if you hear of one!

Seeing this and reading your profile set me to looking for your painting which I had missed. Nice one.

You've inspired me to try plein air painting!

Hi Caroline - you look well set up there. Painting looks great.

Terrific. Next on my agenda is plein air. Have been looking for a sketch box easle, but this has given me food for thought. Is it a camera tri pod converted ?.

Thank you so much, Adele and Sian. Jan, I just love to see photos of other artists plein air painting so I thought I'd have a go and put this one in the gallery - I'm so pleased it's added to your interest. Good luck!

Andre, I could talk plein air set ups all day long! Yes, this is an ordinary, camera tripod, with a quick release shoe fitting attached to the upright part where the board/panel sits. It's good because it folds down small and is light, but it's stable enough to cope with a bit of wind. Send me a private message if you'd like to know more?

beautiful painting Caroline- you make it look easy!

Thank you Jen, much appreciated!

Hang on Studio Wall

I forgot to post this together with my earlier posting today of 'Field of gold'. Time for a nice cup of tea. Sun gone and the barley harvested.
