Can't say it enough - love sunflowers and this is no exception. Lovely highlights. Like the way you have put in the leaves.

Thank you Dennis and Adele. The sunflower provided great support for a nearby honeysuckle so some of the greenery is honeysuckle leaves and stems. Sunflowers are so full of life and cheerfulness aren't they. I hadn't painted one before and it was a challenge to do it without much detail but to still look 'right'.

I'm in the middle of painting sunflowers Caroline. I'm painting them quite detailed as I do with many of my flower paintings. However I have lately seen around 3 or 4 different sunflowers more loosely painted and I really like them. However I shall continue and see what I end up with.
