Little Spanish artichoke and garlic

Little Spanish artichoke and garlic

You have achieved a fine impression of a super subject. The marks and the palette chosen just right.

Superb painting Caroline a little beauty. Great stuff

The cool colours of the garlic, lovely, against the warmer background. Garlic is fascinating to paint, echoing the purples in the artichoke - there's a lot to look at in something so simple.

A little beauty Caroline! I don't know how you managed to convey so much on such a small board. Well done!

This is a lovely well painted picture well done

These still life studies are great pieces of work caroline, and these two are a most companionable pair, very well painted.

lovely study Caroline like the use of a limited palette

A big thank you to each of you for taking the time to comment, it's very encouraging; painting can be a solitary process which I do quite like but to get such great comments is a real boost. Fabulous really like this Caroline.

You've captured the roundness of the artichoke and garlic perfectly, and i love the balance of colours. Really nice painting.

I'd forgotten but yes, I struggled with the roundness so I'm pleased you think they work.

They most definitely work!

Hang on Studio Wall

I'm catching up with postings of work; another one from last year. I started off aiming to do a quick impressionistic sketch but became fascinated with all the colours in the little artichoke and head of garlic. Oil on board 6" X 6"
