I was immediately drawn to this, I like limited palette work. It presents enough information for interpretation & allows the brain to fill in the gaps.

Thank you, Jacqueline. I really enjoyed applying the layers of acrylic paint yesterday! I've enjoying the freedom of working "all prima" in acrylic and oil during lockdown, but I've always thought my friend, Clare's original photo would translate better in watercolour, so I'm going to give it a try when I've got a bit more time.

SOLD. The photo that inspired this painting was taken at daybreak in early April this year by a local friend. It was taken from an old green lane at the back of her farm looking over Boraston in South Shropshire, with the mist we often see lying in the valley bottoms on cold spring mornings as the sun starts to warm the ground. I think I might have overworked it, so I would welcome some feedback!
