Your wonderful door has brightened up a dreary day. I bet you make these doors and handles etc look better than in real life,. which is what it is about.

If someone suggested to me to paint a weathered old door with rusty hinges I would think how boring! Your doors are anything but Avril, they are superbly painted and full of interest and never fail to amaze!

I've commented on this elsewhere: a brilliant tour de force of technique and observation! What are you really telling us Avril? Surely locked doors, rusting locks and peeling paint are a metaphor for some bigger issues....

Of course Kim ! As time goes by locks rust and paint peels ......but "Old is beautiful" ! The triple locked doors are just a sign of our times.

Very beautiful. I just feel that I could walk up to this door and push it open. It actually looks very inviting and I am wonder what treasures lie beyond so you have created an enticing mystery with this wonderful painting.
