The head is painted really well, his expression and all. The hand not in the same league, the foreshortening is always tricky.

Seems we are all thinking the same: light, brush strokes etc, all great. You've created some vibrancy which works well. As a self-portraitist myself, I can just imagine you sat leaning in front of the mirror presumably painting with your free 'right' hand. Really good.
