  • Thea's right about the success of your method, and those pale colours give you (and you take full advantage of) really powerful darks that bring the whole thing together. Some of my best friends are photographers, but this picture shows the huge advantage a painting can have over even the very greatest photograph; this is as near as human hand, brush and paint can home to creating a living thing.
