  • I'd give my right arm to be able to paint a picture in 30 minutes, Alan. LOL

Great colour and mood in this fine impression of the sea. I particularly like the sky and the mere hint of a village on the far shore. Great atmosphere.

  • Great sky and the suggestion of land works a treat.

  • Another beauty, Alan. Skies are an important element in a painting and should not be neglected

  • Amazing colours and I love to see the process in the brushstrokes. So vibrant!

  • Another cracker Alan. Would never manage anything like this in 30 minutes but it must be excellent practise to paint in short bursts. Love the way the clouds scurry across the sky and reflect onto the water.

  • Thanks guys, some great comments for a quick oil sketch.
Brian and Carole, you could do it easily in 30 minutes. Adopt a ‘hung-ho’ manner and don’t set out to produce a masterpiece, the rest will follow!

  • As you say a never ending source of inspiration Alan. A lively sky with lovely loose brush strokes. Enjoyed see yours and many other POL contributors work at Patchings when I visited on Sunday.
