  • It's coming along very nicely, Margaret, with the blocks and dimensions all in place. I hope you finish it.

  • A lovely delicate watercolour Margaret. I think you’ll probably do more to this, will be interesting to see!

  • It's looking good, great colours but if you are like me I wouldn't be able to resist some pen and ink, 😀😀😀

  • Great fresh brushwork, Margaret. Like you I go straight in with the brush, love it so far, are you going to do more? It works as it is, anyway!

  • Thanks Bri, Annick, Alan, Tessa, Carole, Linda and Thalia for your lovely and helpful comments - much appreciated.

I might just leave this one as it is - at least for a few days! The technique was inspired by Arthur Melville's middle eastern paintings (love his stuff!) - it probably does need more work but I'm worried about overworking it - and ruining it completely! I might just try doing another one of the same subject and see how it goes.

Linda - artist pens are always a temptation to me! :)

  • A little touch of ink here and there....perhaps, great as it is mind you.

  • Thanks, Fiona - yes, it probably could do with a touch of ink! but I was trying to do a pure watercolour inspired by the wonderful Arthur Melville - I can see me doing a few versions of this - even though the photo of the Abbey was taken in the rain the colours of the stone are gorgeous.
