  • Well this has been a long time coming - a painting from you in the Gallery, Robert. Well worth the wait, full of light and a lovely touch - and ratty's back too.

  • Beautiful light in this. Just perfect.

  • I agree about the light, so well captured Robert. My initial thought would have been to darken the area on the L/H side quite a bit to give extra contrast, however, it is great as it is, ratty and all.

  • Hello Ratty missed you! There's a beautiful softness about this Robert almost pastel shades, sky gorgeous it's very attractive.

  • At first glance I thought it was a pastel, not that that matters. Bright, fresh, and full of sunlight. Excellent work, Robert.

  • Thank'ee kindly.

Yes, greater contrast could have been achieved by making the left side much darker (Alan): this is one of the problems with working from a photograph - you think you've exaggerated the tonal differences, and in the context of the photo, you have; but by nowhere near as much as you would have done had you been on site; which in this case wasn't possible. But - there's always a next time!

  • Beautiful fresh colours, Robert. I’m assuming “ratty” that’s everyone is referring to, is the little creature on the bottom left hand side.
