  • Now I've posted it I can see that the gnarled trees on the right are too dark, or perhaps those on the right are not dark enough.

  • Nice study Marjorie, really must get my pastels out again. Only you can comment on the tone of the trees, to me they look ok.

  • Could be lots of dark ivy!!! Lovely soft blossom.

  • I love the trees on the left hand side Marjorie and perhaps a little bit of darkening for the others would make them stand out more but all in all, a lovely little pastel.

  • Such a lovely fresh spring pastel Marjorie. That touch of blue at the top brings it all together.

  • Very nice painting Marjorie. The trees look fine to me as well.

  • Welcome back Marjorie, this is a smashing little work, I like the form of the trees on the left very reminiscent of old oak trees and as Gudrun said they could be covered in ivy , I think a touch of darkness in the background on the left hand side or dark shadow on the foreground trees would soon balance that out if you are not happy, nice one.

  • The trees on the left are my favourite bit Marjorie! Lovely study, glad to see you back!
