  • This is quite appealing Janet with it's subdued palette and coarse brushwork.

  • I like the way you've 'worked' the paint, Janet. It puts me in mind of Edith Piaf.

  • Agree with Frank about the palette and brush stokes, a slight feel to it of Walter Sickerts brush marks, nice work, and shows a versatility to your work.

  • Great portrait Janet! I love the palette you have used and also the marks left by the knife.

  • wonderful portrait, Janet, a difficult job, I suppose, only with palette knife.

  • Thank you Satu, Julie and Cesare. Cesare, I enjoy painting with a palette knife, but it's not easy to get the accurate marks you want, but it makes you do it loosely! This one was all done with the knife, but quite often I do the things like the eyes with a brush!
