  • You've taken on my least favourite tree to paint - the weeping willow (it's made me weep more than once...). I wonder if you had trouble with it, as I always do? The glassiness of the water is especially well done.

  • Another beautiful piece, Stephen. Agree with Robert, the reflection is just superb, as are the greens. I would have capitulated at the thought of having to paint a willow!

  • Another excellent result Stephen, your weeping willow is super!

  • Thanks once again Robert, Seok and Fiona, I don't think I will try another Willow for a while, certainly not without Geoff's 'words of wisdom'! By the way, Geoff substituted the bridge shown here from another photo ,as the real bridge was a modern, concrete one. I would never have thought of that.

  • Lovely bridge scene Stephen, nice to see the canal barges upstream from the bridge and the Laburnum tree cascading down over the canal

  • A lovely palette, Stephen. I think the water is wonderful and your washes are beautiful.
    A lovely gallery!

  • Love this scene, I'd enjoy a walk down that path.

Do you work with a limited palette, and mix your greens yourself?
