Thank you for all the feedback on this painting; it was the first time I managed to do what my art teacher used to try and get me to do , which was to 'loosen up' from my tendency to realism, and by luck/answer-to-prayer/miracle, it just worked better than I dared hope; it speaks powerfully to congregations years on and grateful that it still speaks to some of you. I won't say 'enjoy' because it isn't that kind of painting; peace and love; God bless, Andy x

On Good Friday, it seems right to post this painting, that I worked through Holy Week as a focus on the events of that weekend; I tried to convey not just the ghastly physical torment but the psychological torment of being cut off, for the first time in eternity, to his Father, in heaven
