The Last of England (For Two Weeks)
A stylistic departure. This is a cheeky tribute to one of my favourite paintings by Ford Maddox Brown that showed the agony of emigration. This shows the agony of getting to Luton Airport for a 7 a.m. departure with a young family. Going on a two week package deal in Mallorca doesn't match up to leaving for Australia forever, but it does show how times have changed.
About the Artist
I was painting a lot up until 2015, but things dried up when I moved and undertook a house renovation. During this last year, I've been stuck at home and like everyone had more time on my hands.
