The Long Shadows of Autumn; Towards Loe Pool 70x50cm charcoal & pastel
This is a view looking towards Loe Bar on the Penrose Estate, Helston. I loved drawing the long shadows cast by the weathered, windswept trees on this cold, autumnal day & the traditional 'Cornish Hedges' on either side. This lane is full of atmosphere & I'm sure has been here for many years as a way to get to the farmers' fields whilst, at the same time, having a natural breath-taking view. The Bar is a stretch of sand which separates Loe Pool from the sea and is surrounded by myths & legends.
