Such a good sketch Alan. I take it you're in Spain at the moment. Have a lovely time and enjoy the warmer weather there. Cold, strong winds here and so much rain. The fields at the bottom of our garden are flooded and outside painting wouldn't be a good idea. You'd just get blown over. :)

Hi Alan would have commented earlier but have been travelling. Just wanted to say that it’s so lovely to be able to paint outdoors comfortably. Was in Spain until last week. Whilst there I was able to do lots of painting outdoors but I am now back in the blustery north east where it is only possible to paint outdoors in the summer. Can’t wait to get back to Spain as it is so much easier and kinder to feel the warmth of the sun as you while away the hours painting.

A great pen/ink drawing of this street Alan, nice alignment and perspective too, showing fine detail of the position of windows and especially the highlights as it focus the eye upon distance!

Another early morning sketch, before it all gets too busy! The old part of a coastal town and adjacent to the fishing port which is another destination that I always love to visit. I was sitting outside a café which was handy as I had a table to work off, plus some good strong coffee. Indian Ink on A4 Strathmore Tan paper. These pads have thick backboards which makes them ideal for outdoor sketching, even when standing to sketch.
