What an inspirational series of paintings Alan. Stunningly beautiful . Really enjoying them. .

One of your best, even better being from your imagination. I always like to see people in landscapes (a hang-up of mine). I especially like the way you've painted the sea. Good luck in the competition.

Wow I love it, you always get the most amazing colour in your paintings. The addition of the boats in the left of the painting is really well thought out so as not to cause to much distraction from the rest of your painting, a beautiful composition 😀

Ooh fantastic. Love the place and this is so typical and very beautiful Alan. Shame I will never get back there now :(

I love this very much, Alan. It has a beautiful quality of dreaminess to it. Good luck in the competition! This is really gorgeous.

Love the gradations of blue Alan and that tiny splodge of pinky orange in the sky. You have captured that special luminescence that only Cornwall offers.

I would say this is one of your best Alan, in my opinion of course. A beauty in every way - composition, colour atmosphere. Whisper( a winner)

I agree with the above comments, Alan. This is a spectacular viewpoint. Love the rich colours too.

Goodness me! Well thank you all so much for an almost rapturous applause. I am delighted that you like it so much.

Very nice, Alan. I particularly like the variety of warm and cool blues and the brushwork in the foreground. Good luck with the competition :)

The various blues are vibrant, Alan. I love the people on the jetty. It just beautiful.

Not wishing to appear sycophantic Alan, but you are such an inspirational figure on this site. Although prolific you manage to retain a 'freshness' in your work whilst consistently achieving high standards. I have to say that in my opinion, this is the best painting you have done, the composition, those perfectly placed highlights, the colours and how you've conveyed the feeling of 'depth' in the water is superb.

Lovely Alan beautiful light

I agree with the others enthusiasm about this one Alan, love that dramatic, high viewpoint, almost makes me a little giddy.

It's all been said.....brilliant painting!

This is absolutely stunning, Alan...so very Cornwall!

I love the brightness and the happiness in this gorgeous painting, Alan. The brushwork is fantastic!

Full of that luscious turquoise Alan and a lovely view to boot!

This is super, Alan, love the high viewpoint and those beautiful blues and greens in the water. (I also think this is one of your best.)

Goodness Alan, this is inspirational in every respect. The colours have a jewel like quality that shine and dazzle. A truly gorgeous painting......and a definite winner!

Got to be one of your best, Alan. The palette is superb, the subtle use of light and shade is great and the figures and shrimping boats set this gorgeous painting off perfectly. Beautiful work. Bri

Great colour selection. Very effective in creating the atmosphere of Cornwall and the coves. Very well painted.

A very attractive painting, Alan

Smashing painting and gorgeous colours, Alan, fabulous rocks and sea.

Interesting perspective, a lovely gentle movement of water around the harbour wall and I like the subtle introduction of colour to add interest. I think the addition of yachts would have spoilt the balance of your work, nice to have quiet spaces for the eye to rest, the splash of colour in the sky, I think, does the job nicely.

Well, it does sparkle in a nice way , plenty of space to make it relaxing, love the colours on the water and movements, a gorgeous painting, Alan.

Deservedly in the gallery

Well Alan, I think it’s all been said! Wonderful perspective and point of view. Your paintings are seriously good.

I thought I'd already commented on this beauty Alan but having just read through your comments, it seems that I haven't. Must have been distracted! It's a real sparkling eye catcher. One of your best I think :)

A beauty Alan , that sea reflections and colour is just how it is...

Absolutely beautiful.

Fantastic colours in this, Alan. Congratulations on your Patchings Award ! 🍾🎉🍻🍸🍺👏🏾😄 Well deserved, as always.

Oil on MDF board 20 x 20in. Painted this week in the studio from imagination, but with memories of Cornwall in mind, which has always been a great source of inspiration over the years. I’ve deliberately left the distant sea blank, resisting the temptation to drop in a couple of yachts as I so often do. It’s so easy to start filling in all the spaces, it doesn’t always help and can distract the viewers eye. I couldn’t resist adding a group of small shrimping boats though, they helped balance the composition as well as adding some interest. Another for this year’s TAPC Open.
