A Secluded Cornish Cove.
Oil on MDF board 20 x 20in. Painted this week in the studio from imagination, but with memories of Cornwall in mind, which has always been a great source of inspiration over the years. I’ve deliberately left the distant sea blank, resisting the temptation to drop in a couple of yachts as I so often do. It’s so easy to start filling in all the spaces, it doesn’t always help and can distract the viewers eye. I couldn’t resist adding a group of small shrimping boats though, they helped balance the composition as well as adding some interest. Another for this year’s TAPC Open.
