Like this a lot Alan particularly the way you've painted the foreshore

This is lovely Alan, I'll be very interested to see what you do next though.

Another beautiful painting Alan, love the blues contrasting with the soft warm colours in the clouds and foreground. Glad that you are getting inspiration from your sketch books.

A fabulous painting Alan, one of my favourite subjects. The hint of all the rigging on the boats is really good as is the hint of reflections on the wet sand and water.

Excellent work as ever, Alan. This has great appeal, a fine subject.

You have an excellent collection of these Dutch old masters now Alan. Would make a fabulous exhibition. I particularly like the foreground dabs of blue, uniting the whole of the painting.

A striking painting Alan - the diagonals of the masts and furled sails are so important for the composition. It would be so predictable if they were 90degree straight. I like the way you have painted the boats -it really invites me to keep looking! By the way, a great article in the magazine last issue - I hadn’t realised you were the author until the end, and that there are more to come! Look forward to reading them.

Another beauty Alan - love the touches of light blue at the base of the boats in the Orange foreground - stunning

Great subject and composition Alan but for me the colour palette you have used is what makes it sing.

I think this is my favourite of this particular series Alan, it glows, and has interesting marks.

What a way to finish the series,' just brilliant Alan - all of them!

A fantastic painting, Alan. Beautiful scenery and a perfect combination of colours.

The colours are beautiful Alan, and those yachts in the distance just add enough to take the eye to the horizon 👍

Quite simply superb! I don’t know why but I tend to look at watercolours but I suppose it’s what I am using now, I have tried oils and acrylics but found I don’t have an awful lot of time as I am stuck with a couple of hours in the evening? But I have always admired both mediums but from afar so I am thinking of new ways? This is truly excellent though and I so wish I could paint like this!👍

Excellent colour combinations.

Super painting Alan, I love the warm glow.

Lovely, Alan, interesting subject - particularly like the reflections and colours in the foreground.

Another great boatscape Alan.

Absolutely gorgeous

Many thanks for all your comments, greatly appreciated as always.

Great colours and eye-catching painting.

Beautiful warm colours, loved your sea series Alan.

Stunning in its beauty - when you look closely there is so much to admire Alan.

Your paintings are instantly recognizable - don't need to look at the attribution; I wonder quite what it is, and think it's the balance; the palette; and the light; plus - that bit of Bickley Magic. If you could bottle that, you'd have a good many customers here.

Well thanks Robert and my other artist friends for your comments.

Oil on Jackson’s canvas/MDF board 50 x 70cm, the final one of my sea & sail series, time to move on... Like most of us at present, finding subjects to paint whilst grounded is a challenge, my sketch books have been such a help in keeping me supplied with both subject matter and inspiration.
