Excellent painting, feel like in stood there looking off into the distance. Your choice of colours has given it that cold feeling.

A painting of great interest because of the many tones and colour. Excellent.

This is beautiful Alan, I love the snow colours, textures and a great composition

Another great winter scene Alan, as Paul says it really transmits that cold, wintry feeling. Interesting that we have two centres of interest, straight ahead to the farm buildings, or take a right, past the couple and on to the church.

Love your very varied approach to different colour palettes. This one works so well because the greys, greens and blues lend a particular luminosity to this very wintry scene. Beautiful Alan.

Beautiful snowscape, Alan, with a super palette. There's more snow to come, I think. Bri

Just soooo good. So full of controlled color. One of your best(in my opinion), and that's saying something.

Simply lovely.

Wonderful winter scene, love the colours.

Soooooo cold please keep it to yourself. Lovely painting as usual Alan.

Brilliant Alan, that sky promises more of the white stuff I feel!

Lovely snow scene, Alan.

Love this one, Alan. Could look at this for a long time.

Have you seen the time?! Didn’t need the stomach pump after all. Thought I had better comment on this before retiring Alan, it could be ten pages back before morning. It has a wonderful fresh, crisp new snow look and I think Russell mentioned the sky, it has more snow in reserve by the heavy look of it. The whole painting has a unified harmony.

I missed this yesterday Alan, and most of it has already been said! I like the fact that you paint a series which I’m sure would all sit very well together. In this particular painting I really like the fact that you have added figures to the mix, which I don’t think you’ve done before? Superb painting and I love the creamy brushstrokes in the foreground.

Love the colours Alan. Super painting!

Great depth to this atmospheric painting achieved with use of careful use of colour applied with confident brush marks - yes I like it!

Love the colours in the snow, and the figures.

Much obliged for your constructive comments, thank you!

16 x 20in oil on board. Another addition to my series of local winter scenes. This ‘one-horse’ track is virtually impassable during heavy snow, except by 4x4 or better still a tractor! It leads to this historic Norman church, sited next to it is the rectory, both situated within the private estate of the Earl of Harrowby.
