Deciding to attempt figurative work has bee a major step for me in my artistic life. But two other events have affected me hugely in both my artistic and personal life: the Sorolla exhibition at the National Gallery and, receiving the Michele Del Campo book for Christmas 2019. They were events that threw back the curtains to reveal wonders! I now try harder (if very slowly) and see beauty in the mundane. This painting came from a photo taken on a holiday last year.
