Denise for your first attempt at cat this is rather good , there are some particularly good the eyes are so good. I like how you have used a bit of white to show light reflections and the blue is excellent , you do see the odd blue look to black cats . A bit of practice you say to do a better one I think with a bit of practice it will be a great cat.
