So much luminosity and depth in this glorious painting Nandhini. The orange light in the sky and around the tree is so beautiful and the shimmer of the water is the icing on the cake.

Thank you Carole S that’s a lot of praise indeed.. I have just started with Oils and as I am a watercolorist all the way I am approaching it with caution but I guess Norfolk Painting School demos and studio talk is fantastic and one learns a lot at wherever stage we are in.. anyways thank you for your lovely comment.. v encouraging..

This is after American Tonalist Painter John Murphy whose work was part of Tonalism and luminism,I did this as part of my Studio Talk at the Norfolk Painting School. It is Oil on Board measuring 18x 24 inches and this is one of my first paintings in oil and prepping the surface and the methodical approach towards a challenging subject was interesting.
