Always good to see your well-observed work, redolent of what I've seen (though only in pictures) of the Flanders countryside.

Lovely Mia

A lovely drawing, Mia. I can see the attraction in drawing this, for me, as real as it is, the tree has a surreal quality.

A tree with great shape and character, which you sketched beautifully Mia.

Oh I can really relate to this Mia, our neighbours have a huge willow that gets pruned like this every couple of years, then all of a sudden come April it starts to shoot again and its in full leaf now. Its a beautiful tree but i'm glad its in their garden and not ours !!!

Again, simple and effective.

A really nice work Mia great mark making again, we have willows like this in this country it is called Pollarding, it used to be done in times gone by to provide winter fodder for animals and also for basket work in some cases, nice one.

Now here’s an old pollarded willow of great character portrayed with a real sense of good composition. You have to find your subject and recognise it. Others might walk past. You stopped and gave it a new life on paper for us all to enjoy. Thankyou Mia.

I feel a bit like this looks sometimes Mia! A little bent over and tired but this has great character and well drawn.

Lovely, Mia, agree with Lewis that it has a surreal quality. (I can see faces in this, including the head of a squirrel at the top!)
