Nima The Leopard
Often thought to be a distinct species, the "black panther" actually refers to melanistic Jaguars and Leopards. There are at least 13 species of wild cat which demonstrate melanism - an increased level of pigment in the fur - from Leopards like Nima to the tiny Kodkod My colour choices here imbue the piece with life-giving energy & protection. Purple is a colour which represents the Leopards ability to balance between order and chaos, as a predator but also shy and secretive species.
