Poppy II

This is gorgeous Janine. Love the hare’s fur and the vibrant red poppies against the rich greens.

I like all your posts, Janine...this one in particular. Superbly done and thanks for sharing your working method.

Excellent painting Janine, love the vibrant poppies

Beautiful Janine and very interesting working method to create a great piece of work.

Beautifully done and interesting to read how it was achieved ... many hours of work!

A beautiful painting and beautifully painted, the detailing of the fur is amazing.

Absolutely stunning and an interesting use of the mixed use of media.

Thank you so much to everyone who has left me such wonderful comments below...I'm so sorry I don't know how to reply to them individually on here (any suggestions on how to do this would be very much appreciated). Janine x

Truly Amazing, I love the depth.

Hares are a rare but beautiful sight in our great British countryside and are distinguishable from rabbits by their longer ears and legs. The original artwork was created in three stages: firstly water-soluble pencils are applied to provide the 'under-painting' of the subject, this base is then built-up with many layers of coloured pencils. Finally, pastels are used to form the background which gives a soft matt appearance.
