Wolfsquirrel

Oh Malcolm what joy you bring - I love this quirky painting and story

Love it! So much fun. I’m sure I saw one harassing the holidaymakers and stealing chips from the seagulls on a beach in Purbeck.

I’m jolly glad that there aren’t any in my garden!

Quick sketch of the rarely seen Wolf squirrel. An invasive species that originates in Scotland where it preys on the wild haggis living on the upper slopes of Ben Nevis. It is thought that a pair of Wolfsquirrels were brought down to Somerset by Scottish haggis hunters, seeking a break from lockdown. Initially, it was believed that they couldn't survive without their diet of haggis but they have been seen eating a Cornish Oggy and there are reports that a Wolfsquirrel nest has been found, containing eggs.
