Song thrush and child

This is a great drawing Emma, glad to hear they're back where you are.

Lovely drawing and glad to here they are back. Always amusing to see an apparently enormous chick hopping after a parent.

You are so lucky to have them back, Emma. This is a great pen and wash with a story behind it! Love your pen-work!

Really lovely drawing Emma, super penwork and washes, wish we had them in our garden.

Love the pose of the birds and their eager little eyes Emma. Charming.

Cute little chaps Emma, nicely drawn!

Thank you all for the lovely comments.

This lovely Emma, and you’re very fortunate to have them. We rarely see a thrush here but have the same story of a blackbird family which nested in our garden during lockdown and raised two broods. The dad was also quite tame.

Thank you Tessa - lockdown has allowed more time to watch the lives of our birds, they are fascinating.

Thanks Jennifer.

After several years absence, song thrushes have nested in the garden this year; they’ve been doing a great job on the snail population - cracked shells everywhere - and raised three broods. The latest chicks fledged about ten days ago; this is one of them with the parent, who is very bold and will come right up to us. Pen and wash.
