In the headlights

Another good one - love the detail on the feathers.

A lovely owl.

The light you’ve captured on the feathers explains the title Paul…..that quick flash of reflected colour, like the hint of shadowy trees in the background too.

Very illustrative Chris. Certainly captures your owl in headlights.

Lovely detail Paul, like what you have done with the background also.

Thank you David, Sylvia, Fiona, Carole and Denis for you kind comment. I wasn’t to sure of the background Denis , but a my trusted friend said it looked fine , it’s grown on me a bit since.

Love the plumage Paul and the Owls Alertness.

Lovely owl Paul and background

Another lovely oil, the feathers are particularly good

Oops came out as oil, meant owl!

Thanks Chris , Faye and Heather for your kind comments. I have that problem Heather , and as I’m Dyslexic it sometimes gets missed.

I bet I saw such lovely bird busy hunting on field grass... Amazing birds they are. I adore you art, and nice connection between background (black&white) and these colours where the foreground had got lid by headlights ...

Thank you Art , it’s a great compliment coming from such a fine artist as yourself.

A24x39 cm watercolour. Imaginary image of a tawny owl caught in a cars headlights. The background was paints with a mix of Indigo, Burnt umber and deep violet , the shape of the trees were then lifted of with clean water a damp brush and tissue.
