"Wedding Bells"

Interesting to look at and interesting to read how it came about

Thank you Heather, It was inspired from discovering our great, great grandfather and his wife wed in 1786, Ennerdale, The Lake district!

Painted in Monoprint style from a quick loose style monochrome picture I painted using a sheet of glass to form an impression. Its a technique I experimented with by replicating the original image placed under a sheet of glass then painting the image and producing a replicated effect by pressing watercolour paper over the glass. I was experimenting at the time to produce impressionist images for a historical book I was writing at the time based on Ancestry research dated 1786.
