"Behold"
This was the first Rook I painted in Acrylic and it became a kind of Avatar for the rest of the illustrations which followed for the chronicle set of essays I wrote back in 2014 "The Rooks at Wythop Mill". When I discovered this place and received confirmation from three other cousins that our great grandfathers were brothers then it spurred me on to research further. These Rooks are like metaphysical birds, and inspired me to paint them in my set of illustrations.
