What’s on the board today ... sticking with still life and after looking another Uglow painting of two pears, I am having a go at a couple of pomegranates. I’ve just got the basic shapes and a bit of colour but I must get the flagstones in the patio put down before the rain kicks in again ... another rain shower so I’ve just had another twenty minutes to play I’ve been using a “colour shaper” basically a rubber squeegee, but I also use a rubber kitchen spatula for larger areas Ok rain stopped ... back to the chaingang More rain so I carried on. I’ve been using Gamblin ground and I’m very impressed with the way the colour can be taken off, I’ve only thought about that in watercolour or monoprints before now. It’s nice to find there is a way that doesn’t involve ladling more paint on top.
