I have learned that I really lean towards detail, even tho I really want my paintings to have a loose feel and look to it. So what I’ve found is not allowing myself near my small and really small brushes until doing highlights, I really have to earn using them :) In fact, only allowing myself to use my large paint brushes the first day of a new painting really has helped me go in a freer direction. I used to start a blank canvas with a tiny brush and was frustrated when I didn’t seem to have the look I was hoping for.
Your picture is coming along great Bari, I love all the colours, they work so well together.
