Should art aim for technical perfection, or is raw expression more important? Let’s hear your thoughts!
Somewhere in between I would think! Why don’t you put your work on the Gallery here May? Looks interesting but we can’t see it so well here. Thinking more about this, I don’t think I have ever aimed at technical perfection or would want to.

Art is about making an image.  I don't think we should try and limit beyond that.  It doesn't matter if it is perfect or not, and I wonder if it is possible to make an image that isn't 'expressive' in the literal sense of the word?
One is no more important than the other. Both are equally important but run on different paths. It depends, I think on what outcome you want to achieve. On how you want to express your art. Art is a freedom to choose and hence such a wide variety of style, thought, feeling, composition, raw expression and technical competence. It's a very big question. How does one decide if one will work loosely or in detail. It's how we interpret what we see or feel and translate that into the form of an image. It is individual to each of us and I don't think it matters too much, which is more important, it's what we think is important to oneself and how we portray that in our art. Art is like having a third arm, it becomes attached to you and runs deep into your soul. You have the ability to work any way you wish at any given time because it's part of you. It changes with you.
