I hope you all had a merry Christmas. I’ve had a break from sketching over the holidays (I’ve been painting instead). There’s some really great sketches on here whilst I’ve been away, everyone seems to have burst into life. Great stuff. As it’s the last day of December, I thought I’d do another very quick cafe sketch to see out the year. Happy New Year everyone.

I can’t believe it’s a year since the the idea of daily sketch started I manage a lot in the beginning but have slowed down over the last few months. If I recall it was Margaret that started the original thread and very apt that she posted on the last day of the year. It will be interesting to see if it is picked up and continues into 2021 on which note a very Happy New Year to you all.
In honour of Paul’s cafe sketches, and New Year, mine is not quite a pub scene, but raising a glass to 2021, and wishing all at POL a Happy and healthy New Year. Thank you for all the comments, chat and support during this weird year. I also can’t believe it’s been a year since Margaret kicked this off on 1st January. How life has changed since then! We’ve gained some lovely friendly people since then . Will we do this again in January? Will anyone take it on? 🎉

Good one Tessa, and Paul. Doubt we’ll stay up long enough to see this year out but nevertheless out it will go without my help. Definitely want to carry on sketching next year!
Carry on? Absolutely!!
Agreed, we should try at least
I agree, totally. It's probably the one thing that will spur me on this year.
More lovely sketches - I particularly like Alan's joyous fireworks.  Haven't posted in here for months (got caught up in genealogy - really time consuming!) but as I posted in the original thread on 1 January, I might as well post on 31 December!  Here is one I started before breakfast this week when I opened the window and saw the snow and the lovely morning light - quick(ish) watercolour sketch with ink added. Hoping for a much better 2021 for everybody.
