That the ring would keep her afloat .
There was a young lady called Tote. Whose ability to swim was remote. Then her beloved, whilst cleaning the cupboard, discovered a ring to keep her afloat. Squeezing into the ring and that kind of thing. She jumped into the sea, straight from the balcony and landed on the deck of a boat.
Much better than mine Linda.  I prefer Denise's opening lines to mine, and Sylvia's much better last line. So thus far..... There was a young lady called Tote, whose ability to swim was remote. She longed for a swim, but her hopes were quite dim, that the ring would keep her afloat. This scans much better.  It requires a different pic.  My winter people in the background have no relevance now.  (Come to think it, they didn't before.)  In future, I'll think of the limerick BEFORE doing the pic. Thanks folks.
Ok I think Denise wins the prize…. She made me laugh .

There was a young artist from Bude   Who was extremely fond of the Nude  Her neighbours were shocked  To find her unfrocked  With paintings that they thought were Rude . One I did some time ago….any one else hit the muse ….I know Linda Wilson has…

A good one Sylvia, and I like your drawing.
As I have not met anyone called Tote.  Why not “a young lady of note”?
